Like all great love stories, Damien and Kerry first met in Woodlawn's Behan's Bar on St. Patrick's Day (or was it March 18?) in 2019. What started as a fling turned into "giving it a proper try" in July 2020. The following year, Damien and Kerry got their own place together in Yonkers where they've enjoyed building their first home together. On September 9, 2022, Damien pulled off the surprise of Kerry's life while they were on vacation in Clearwater Beach. The weather had been miserable, which meant a few beers and lots of napping (right up both of their alleys, if we're being honest.) On their second night there, the weather cleared and Damien suggested going down to the beach for a walk at sunset. (Kerry wanted to go next door to get tacos, but Damien persuaded her.) On the beach, Kerry was looking at the sunset before she turned around to see Damien getting down on one knee and pulling a ring out of his pocket. "Well, the real reason I wanted to go for a walk ..." Damien said with a big smile. After Kerry "kinda ran away" (purely out of shock!) she, of course, said "yes! yes! yes!" Damien and Kerry have been so touched by the outpouring of love they've received ever since getting engaged and can't wait to celebrate with everyone on Friday, May 3, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi (where Kerry's parents got married) and the Hilton Pearl River!
